“Strength” this Valentine’s Day

February 13, 2017

Someone once asked me : “What is the first word that comes to mind when you think about “motherhood”? My response to that was STRENGTH. I honestly believe that becoming a mother requires a lot of strength mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Strength to me has been something that I learned to acquire throughout my pregnancy journey even after and throughout my birth experience.

Post having my son Kai, I realized and saw how different my body has become, my wider hips, my thicker legs and curvier body. I’m not going to lie, I had my moments when I would start to compare my postpartum body to other mommies out there and would end up feeling upset with myself. I learned that everyone will be different and we all have different lifestyles. While some are blessed to get all the help, other’s have to manage everything alone. I learned that strength was one of the things that was going to get me to accept my body the way that it is now and also learn to appreciate it. I accepted that I will not become a size 2 or 4 right away, I learned that my breast won’t be the same as they once were. I learned that becoming a mother is such a blessing in every way that the love you gain from it all is un-describable.

This post is all about being confident in your own skin, being able to look at yourself and appreciate what you have. We can all get the Strength to change the things we don’t like but learning to love yourself is key after having a child. I haven’t lost my confidence at all, I actually feel like a supermom that can do it all, after my all natural birth I feel like I can accomplish anything I set my mind to.

I partnered up with Anya Lust to show their sexy and wonderful lingerie items. I believe that we can all still feel sexy after becoming mothers and learn to embrace our curves and body. I am wearing their Elektra Mesh Bra and Panties  along with their Sophie Babydoll Make sure you guys check them out as they have everything from cute lingerie to amazing candles to spice up any romantic night with your significant other.

Posts like this are real. Thanks. It’s always out there the “be you” mantra, but no validity behind it.

Beautiful photos . Love this post. I agree. After having my son I felt comfortable with my body. It wasn’t how it used to be , but that was ok with me.
