What better way to celebrate the holidays than with new makeup! Recently, the newest palette everyone has been talking about is the Distortion Palette from Urban Decay available at Sephora inside JCPenney. So I was super excited when I was finally able to check it out for myself.
What makes this palette unique is that you can create your own duotone shadows with it. How it works is you layer the shadows in the top row over any of the other shades. You can instantly see how they transform into multidimensional hues.
The shadows come in the vertical trios but you can mix and match them to create your own combinations—which is an awesome way to customize your own looks!
This palette comes with 9 new shades. Of course, Urban Decay had to keep their famous black color shadow, as it’s a must in any palette. I love the way that the shadows apply on the eyes and the pigmentation is also great.
For this holiday look, I started off by using the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion which is great to use before applying these shadows. It makes the color stay on all day or night. This primer is known for its non-creasing, smooth application, and it’s available in four finishes. The original one dries down clear, the Eden one has a nude matte finish, while the Minor has shimmer in it and the Anti-aging has a hint of sheer pigment to color correct and blur those imperfections.
I then applied the colors Bleach, First Offense and Blur to get the final look. Once I got the perfect color and blend that I wanted, I applied the Troublemaker Mascara. This mascara gives you amazing lashes each and every time. It also adds volume and length, as it separates with its custom brush. This mascara will become your go to mascara, and the design is also super cute.
To add some sparkle to my holiday makeup look, I used the Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner in the color Grind. I applied this under my lower eyelashes and in the crease of the eye. This eyeliner is water based and it’s buildable so you can add another shade of color if you wish. You can wear this eyeliner alone or over your eyeshadow. And I love that it comes in a slim bottle with a cool lightning bolt deco and a shiny gunmetal cap. Perfect for on-the-go, like I always am, and it comes in 11 colors.
Lastly, I love to use a setting spray all the time regardless of where I am going just to make sure that my makeup stays put throughout the day. Here, I am using the Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray which I love because it sprays on weightlessly and makes my makeup last all day.Urban Decay has three different setting sprays, the All Nighter, De-slick and the Chill. All of these are free of oil and parabens. The All Nighter keeps your makeup looking amazing for up to 16 hours without melting or fading. The De-Slick makes your makeup last as it controls the oil, so if you are an oily person this will be the one for you. The Chill setting spray actually cools the surface of your makeup to help it last for up to 12 hours without smudging.
Since it’s the holiday season, I would love to show my appreciation by giving away a brand new Distortion Eyeshadow Palette from Urban Decay! One lucky reader will win this palette that I love so much. Just make sure you check out my Instagram page to see the rules and how to enter!
